Kennesaw State’s College of the Arts hosted a live Skype conversation with Broadway Director/Choreographer Susan Stroman on Nov. 1 in the Stillwell Theatre.

Despite the devastation wrought by Hurricane Sandy in New York City, the live Skype conversation with five-time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman was conducted for students.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Stroman's production of The Producers won 12 Tony Awards in 2001. She also won for choreography in 1992 for Crazy for You, in 1995 for Show Boat and in 2000 for Contact. Her 2010 production of John Kander and Fred Ebb's The Scottsboro Boys was a commercial failure on Broadway but nonetheless drew passionate critical support, yielding 12 Tony nominations."

This Skype event was hosted in New York City by Shuler Hensley, the College of the Arts’ artist-in-residence for this academic year. The event was attended by Kennesaw State University students, faculty and staff.

Stroman is the director/choreographer of such Broadway hits as Oklahoma!, Contact, Young Frankenstein and Crazy for You.
