KENNESAW, Ga.—On Sunday, July 15, the 2012 Starlight Summer Concert Series will continue the tradition of summer nights full of musical entertainment with an evening featuring Louisiana-based guitarist Eric Lindell. The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Legacy Gazebo Amphitheater on campus.

David Daly, director of the Dr. Bobbie Bailey & Family Performance Center, describes Lindell’s music as “a smooth blend of guitar-driven blues, blue-eyed soul, and the unique blend of sounds that New Orleans music is known for. It's a feel-good, rootsy sound that makes it hard to sit still while listening to it.” Lindell’s musical style borrows from 1970s blues-rock, creating a mix of powerful soul, blues, R&B and jazz with a dash of country.

Described as a “tremendous talent with a poet’s soul” by Chicago Sun Times, Lindell’s KSU performance is part of his “I Still Love You” CD release tour, his third album with Alligator Records. With praise from USA Today to The Los Angeles Daily News, Lindell’s “shuffling interplay of electric guitars, percolating organs and Creole horns” is reminiscent of a café in New Orleans.

Admission at the Legacy Gazebo Amphitheater opens at 6 p.m. General admission tickets are $8 and table reservations for six are $75. Table reservations must be made at least one week in advance. For more information, including directions and parking, visit Starlight.

The next Starlight concert is July 29 featuring Country Music Awards and Grammy Award-winner Suzy Bogguss.
