KENNESAW, Ga. -- For many families, there's certainly no shortage of pride during graduation season. But for the Doss household, it's practically overflowing.

This year, there are two reasons to celebrate Kennesaw State University's Class of 2014: Greg Doss, receiving his doctor of education, and his son, Gage Doss - graduating with a masters degree in applied statistics.

For two graduate students in two different programs, their paths did not cross very often during their two years together. But there's just something about sharing a campus that makes you look at your son in a whole new way

"I now know who to go for math problems!" Greg Doss said, laughing. "Actually, he was supporting me a lot because he was doing the stats for my dissertation."

And Gage realized that his old man knows a thing or two about graduation. This most recent accomplishment marks a total of seven degrees, four of them from KSU.

"That's what he's always taught me," Gage said of his father. "That you shouldn't be satisfied with mediocrity and always strive for excellence."

Ever true to his role, the older Doss has no shortage of graduation advice for his son:

"The only limit you have is yourself," Doss said, reciting a favorite Walt Disney quote. "So you can be as limited as you want, or limitless."

But this year, the advice goes both ways.

"The only thing I have to say is keep up the good work," Gage Doss told his father. "And I think you can stop going to school now," he added with a smile.

The father and son duo will graduate Tuesday evening at 7.
