What:

Performances of the winning stories from Moving to New American Communities‚ a contest celebrating student writing sponsored by the Kennesaw Mountain Writing Project. A book signing of the anthology of stories will follow the performance.



Who:

Contest winners include students from the following Cobb County schools: Harmony Leland Elementary; Riverside Elementary; Powers Ferry Elementary; Lindley Middle; Lassiter High; and Wheeler High. One winner came from Lilburn Middle School in Gwinnett County. Area high school drama teachers and their students will perform dramas based on the stories.



The contest rules invited students to write about the experience of moving to a new neighborhood‚ school‚ city or country. Several winners are recent immigrants to the United States.



When:

Friday‚ June 15‚ 9 a.m. − 12 noon

Burruss Building‚ Room 151‚ Kennesaw State University
