A public meeting will be held Tuesday, April 16, from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m., at the Kaiser Permanente facility on Townpark Lane at Busbee Parkway to discuss the Skip Spann Connector.
Kennesaw State University President Daniel S. Papp mentioned the two-year, $20 million project in his State of the University speech. Papp said there have been some traffic challenges posed by the university's rapid growth. Egress from campus during peak times is still difficult, but he said this will be eased with the completion of the Skip Spann Connector.
Named after former KSU fundraiser and Towncenter Community Improvement Director Skip Spann, the I-75 overpass will connect Frey Road with Busbee Parkway. It will will create another campus entrance near the East parking deck, alleviating traffic tie-ups on Chastain Road.
The Cobb County Board of Commissioners and the Georgia Department of Transportation are working on the project.
