Kennesaw State initiates 31 students into Omicron Phi Chapter of Order of Omega

Honor society recognizes top 3% of fraternity and sorority members

KENNESAW, Ga.  (April 1, 2013) — The Omicron Phi Chapter of Order of Omega at Kennesaw State University has initiated 31 students from the fraternity and sorority community. Membership in this prestigious honor society is based on the qualities of leadership, scholarship and service. Members selected represent the top 3% of their respective fraternity and sorority communities.

The newly initiated Kennesaw State members are: Laura Allen, Molly Altmire, Caleb Buxton, Chaz Chapman, Nayasia Coleman, Elizabeth Copeland, Cody Dewrell, Lauren Fishman, Hanna Fitzgerald, Emily Forbes, Hope Garijanian, Elizabeth Gooch, Hector Gutierrez, Cassie Harris, Damarcus Henley, Jonathan Henry, Mallory Hope, Chelsea Johnson, Meagan Jurick, Lynsey King, Jeanette Mauro, Herman Owens, Brittany Orton, Megan Perry, Rachel Prater, Emary Ruppert, Jesus Salcido, Sara Simmons, Shanna Spatch, Hillary Tapley and Stamatia Williams.

“We are so proud and honored to recognize our largest Order of Omega member class in the history of Kennesaw State, said Eric Nichols, chapter president of the Order of Omega. “To date, more than 100 KSU students have been initiated in Order of Omega.”

According to the Order of Omega Constitution, the purpose of Order of Omega Greek Honor Society is: “To recognize those fraternity men and women who have attained a high standard of leadership in inter-fraternity activities, to encourage them to continue along this line, and to inspire others to strive for similar conspicuous attainment; to unite outstanding fraternity men and women to create an organization which will help to mold the sentiment of the institution on questions of local and intercollegiate fraternity affairs; to bring together members of the faculty, alumni, and student members of the institution's fraternities and sororities on a basis of mutual interest, understanding and helpfulness; and to help create an atmosphere where ideas and issues can be discussed openly across Greek lines and to help work out solutions.”
